What members say!!

I joined the NALW a while ago now as it appeared at the time to be the only resource bank, modules for link workers, conference access, webinars and cpd for this new and developing role. I also completed the online skills survey and suggested to my team that they also did this. Many of us did and a very helpful report has been produced by NALW. Although I am the Project Co-Ordinator I wanted to access the full membership to be able to support my new team. The membership fee does include access to the conferences which would otherwise cost more than the day events themselves. The resources and modules are helpful, particularly to those new in role and I have suggested that as many of my team through our partner organisations become members.

The real value is that the NALW was in place before the NHS drive for Social Prescribing Link workers so it has the grass roots, non-medicalised, asset-based focus.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting other link workers and discussing challenges, success, and sharing knowledge

It was good to learn about motivational interviewing and how to apply. I am grateful to my employer who paid for my membership.

It is great to know that there is help out there for us new to post with little or no guidance.

The courses have given me a good understanding of the role of a link worker and a holistic view of the process with tools to be more efficient in the role.

The group is really beneficial to me for networking, learning and sharing ideas with other link workers.

As I am new to the link working role, I found it all useful. Glad i signed up.

Thank you so much for the sample interview guide template, we used it last night and its perfect

Thanks for arranging the conference call. It was helpful to have some peer support and hear challenges for others, new in post to Social Prescribing. Such calls and conversations are very much needed as many social prescribers, myself included are working in isolation
